Since it was a Test Week last week

there are no new screen shots.

HERE ARE  THE NEXT 2 WEEKS :

THIS WEEK :

Mon (2/8) —

  • The start of Packet 6
  • Discuss the next two weeks.
  • You have until Friday  4:30PM to come in to finish the pencil work on side 3 of your Test 5.
  • Test 5 Make Up begin today. Remember you have three sides.  You will need to come in twice if you are coming in at lunch.  Maybe best after school if possible.
  •  BOW — Knots!
  • Scan through Notebook 5  pics.   Discuss the ebook/website idea: ‘Students write a Physics book for students. very short Slide Show’
  • Joke Monday
  • I will hand out the sign up sheet for Dr. Strauss!!
  • Present Packet 6 Celebrities and new deadline,
  • Reveal the 4 Opening page questions for Packet 6
  • SAMS RUN STOCKERS SIGN UP.

Tues (2/9)

  • Those classes that haven’t seen the LHC animation video will watch or finish watching
  •  I will hand out SHEET 6.1 (Duck Walk Lab) if I didn’t already.
  •  Duck Walk Lab will take up the whole period, but we may have time to start collect some data with Mr. Pentecost.
  • SAMS RUN STOCKERS FINAL SIGN UP.

TUESDAY AT LUNCH (12:12-12:55):   ROCKETRY . . .  DEFINITELY ROCKETRY.

TUESDAY EVENING (4:30-7:30PM) ROBOTICS

Wed (2/10 )—  

  • Here is a link to the LHC Brochure we talked about.
  • Discuss the Duck Walk lab and Newton’s Laws.
  • Final list presented on who is going to Dr. Strauss.  I’ll hand out notecards to those going.  Ask one question for him or his work.  I’ll give him the stack of questions when he gets here.  Please sign your first name to the card.

WEDNESDAY EVENING SAMS RUN MEET AT SAMS AT 6:30PM; We’ll be done by 7:30PM.  You get 1.5x credit for being a night stocker.

Thur(2/11) —

  • GRAVITY WAVES PROVEN!! EINSTEIN WAS RIGHT (AGAIN)!
  • We discussed the Force suitcase (notes in notebook)
  • We worked problem 6.1.6
  • We worked Mr. Pentecost’s first Physics problem.
  • We determined the accelerations from the Duck Walk lab
  • We plotted Force vs. acceleration (each group went to the board)

THURSDAY AT LUNCH (12:12-12:55):   DR. STRAUSS FROM THE LHC WILL BE HERE! 

THURSDAY EVENING (4:30-7:00PM) ROBOTICS

Fri (2/12) —

  • Show the NYT video on Gravity Waves
  • Listen to the Valentine’s letter
  • Finish the graph from Duck Walk Lab
  • Finish discussing and working sheet 6.1
  • Hand out Sheet 6.2  (Newton’s Laws)
  • Homework is 6.2.1 – 6.2.3

Last chance for Packet 5 Make Up Tests is 4:30PM. After this a maximum of 50%.
