THIS WEEKS SLIDE SHOW OF LAST WEEK:
( I will add captions before Monday morning. )
- One of the best examples of Civil Engineering (unfortunately NOT in America)
- Graph of running from 50m mark through the origin and stopping way on the other side of the origin. This is called a lopsided bow tie.
- . . .
- Vectors add a lot different than scalars.
- . . .
- Head to Tail method of adding vectors.
- 3 + 4 = 6 is only one of an infinite number of possibilities for 3 + 4 in vector world.
- . . .
- . . .
- 3 + 4 does have limitations. The most the magnitude could be is 7, the least the magnitude could be is 1. Here is the situation giving you the smallest magnitude. (Remember, magnitude is the length of the arrow).
- We usually use vectors in Physics MEchanics to represent forces.
- The Hyperloop is being built! (at least a prototype)
- We will spend a good chunk of this year learning how to draw and work with FBDs.
- FBDs represent the outside forces acting on the center of mass of a body. All bodies are represented with points until we start talking about torque next semester.
- Here is an example of a FBD we talked about.
- Same idea from another class.
- Good luck procreating any baby lions Noah.
- Sheet 1.3: Metric game
- Sheet 1.3: Metric game; Remember, no more than 4 leading or trailing zeros.
- Sheet 1.3: Metric game
- Sheet 1.3: Metric game
- Aerodynamics of a cow. Notice the wind vectors.
- All conversions in Unit Analysis are just clever forms of one.
- . . .
- Sheet 1.4
- Sheet 1.4
- Sheet 1.4
- Sheet 1.4
- Sheet 1.4
- Sheet 1.4 You must write above each cell whether the fraction is a conversion or a given
- Sheet 1.4
- Sheet 1.4
- . . .
- Better way to write. The objective of this game is to get rid of the scientific notation by coming up with the best metric prefix for the number. It’s dumb to have a small number represented by a big prefix and vice-a-versa.
- Sheet 1.5
- Sheet 1.5
- Sheet 1.5
- RED DAY BONUS. You will get up to 1/3 the points back that you miss on Red Day IF you show the red work involved in correcting your original work.
- Assignment for the weekend.
- Sheet 1.6
- Sheet 1.6
- We need to talk about this.
- Here come the extra stamps.
