On the left: An example of the velocity having a value and the acceleration being zero. On the right: The velocity might be zero (like at a turn around point and there still is an acceleration (because there is a slope on the v vs. t graph. Remember that acceleration is the CHANGE in velocity through a time NOT velocity over time.
